How Caducian works

Caducian fits into the existing exam-room workflow. No new hardware, no EMR integration required, no clinical data exchanged.

Step 01.

The physician considers a prescription

During the visit, the physician identifies one or more therapeutically appropriate medication options, exactly as they do today.

Step 02.

Caducian generates the comparison

Using only the patient’s coverage information — never their diagnosis or condition — Caducian retrieves the relative cost and time differences between those options under the patient’s specific plan, including tier, prior-authorization requirements, and step-therapy restrictions.

Step 03.

Doctor and patient review the comparison together

The relative comparison appears on a single screen designed for shared viewing in the exam room. The conversation that normally happens at the pharmacy counter — or never happens at all — happens here instead.

Step 04.

The prescription is sent

The physician sends the prescription to the pharmacy as usual. The patient leaves the office knowing what to expect.

Practice origin note

Caducian was first deployed in pulmonary medicine, where prescription cost variability and prior-authorization friction are particularly high. The platform now supports cardiology, endocrinology, orthopedics, and additional specialties, with continued expansion.
